Supervisory Services for Associates

Dr. Dawn Irons Ph.D, LPC-S, LPCC-S, BCPCC
Hi, I’m Dr. Dawn Irons Ph.D, LPC-S, LPCC-S, BCPCC, and I am licensed in the states of Texas and New Mexico. My practice focuses on reaching all age groups with an emphasis on trauma, EMDR, and coming from a Christian worldview. I supervise associates as a part of my practice because there is a huge shortage of quality mental health providers in the rural areas of West Texas and New Mexico, and even fewer that focus on a Christian worldview.
License Status: Active in Texas since 2011. Active in NM since 2024.
Supervisory training received at Walden University and PracticeMentors.us
Availability: Currently interviewing bright, happy, team-oriented future associates for our Denver City and Brownfield, Texas locations.
That's a little bit about me so let me tell you what we're looking for and see if we can help each other.
Are We A Good Fit?
Compatibility and camaraderie amongst my staff is very important to me and so there are several things that you need to know about my selection process. Those 4 things are listed below for your review.
First...
In order to be considered as an associate under the supervision of Dr. Dawn Irons, LPC-S, BCPCC, all applicants must provide three letters of reference. These three letters are required, no exceptions!
- The first is from the pastor of the church you are attending,
- An educational reference from the program from which you graduated,
- and a professional reference from someone who can vouch for your work ethic and professional skills. This may be the site supervisor where you did your practicum, or something like that.
Third...
Based on the state laws of Texas, Hope Harbor Counseling will not participate in any aspect of Gender Affirming Care (GAC) with minors as the state has deemed GAC to meet the legal definition of child abuse in Texas. Our oath is to do no harm. We also believe that if GAC is harmful to children (and it is), then it is also harmful to adults. No exceptions.
Second...
At Hope Harbor Counseling, we are distinctly a Christian Counseling Center. We do not require that our clients believe the way we do, but all counselors on staff must be willing to agree to and sign the statement of faith that defines the scope of our Christian worldview. As a religious organization, we have the Constitutional right to hire counselors who align with our Christian beliefs and tenets of faith.
And Finally...
I will not supervise anyone who plans to be in private practice as an LPC-Associate. There is simply too much liability on the part of the supervisor, and I am unwilling to supervise under those conditions. Though you are free to be in private practice as an LPC-Associate, I would not be the supervisor for you.

Still With Me?
We're looking for good, like-minded people to join our staff so if you're good with the four items discussed above then let's find some time to have an initial phone call discussion and see if we can help each other. Please call 806-464-4197 and leave a message if I happen to be in session and I will return your call as quickly as possible. Please leave a phone number that you typically answer and I look forward to speaking with you!
